The 31st meeting of the ISGAN Executive Committee (ExCo31), hosted by Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico (RSE), will take place in Rome, Italy, from March 17 to 19, 2026.
In conjunction with ExCo31, ISGAN will organize two on-site side workshops addressing key topics for the clean energy transition and smart grid development. These workshops will bring together international experts, policymakers, system operators, researchers, and practitioners.
The first workshop, “ISGAN Lighthouse Workshop on Long-Term Planning & Implementation of Smart Distribution Grids“, is part of the ISGAN Lighthouse Project, which brings together international experience to support the innovation and accelerated development of the smart distribution grids for the future. This workshop will feature presentations of Lighthouse results with input from invited speakers and interactive plenary sessions, enabling participants to share perspectives and provide feedback. It will take place on March 16, 2026, from 14:00 to 18:00.
The second workshop, “AI and Digitalization for Grid Modernization“, will explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital solutions in modernizing power systems. It will present Italian and international case studies on using AI for power grid planning and operation and explore ways to enhance actor collaboration and coordination in distribution grid planning. A moderated interactive panel discussion will also delve into how to scale up AI and digital solutions in power grids. The workshop will take place on March 20, 2026, from 9:30 to 13:00.
