The 32nd meeting of the ISGAN Executive Committee (ExCo32) will take place in Singapore from 26 to 30 October 2026, bringing together representatives from participating countries and Southeast Asian stakeholders to review ongoing activities and exchange knowledge.
In conjunction with ExCo32, ISGAN will organise two workshops addressing key challenges and opportunities for the clean energy transition, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and the Energy Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University (ERI@N).
The first workshop, “Unlocking the Value of Distributed Energy Resources in Southeast Asia”, will take place from 28 to 30 October 2026. It will explore how distributed energy resources (DER), including rooftop solar, batteries, electric vehicles and flexible demand, can contribute to more affordable, flexible, reliable and resilient power systems. Drawing on international experience, discussions will address distribution grid flexibility, smart inverter and communication standards, interoperability, market and regulatory frameworks, and applications in isolated and islanded systems, with particular attention to the opportunities and challenges facing Southeast Asian countries.
The second workshop, “ISGAN Lighthouse Workshop: Long-Term Planning & Implementation of Smart Distribution Grids”, will take place on 29 October 2026. Building on the findings of the ISGAN Lighthouse Project, the session will showcase the integrated planning framework, recent policy insights and international case studies. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss how these approaches can support more adaptive and coordinated distribution grid planning in Southeast Asia.
