The ISGAN Lighthouse Project focuses on the long-term planning and implementation of smart distribution grids through collaborative efforts among ISGAN Working Groups and international partners. It identified key activities and stakeholders to address distribution grid challenges, enhancing knowledge exchange and best practices. The project emphasized a structured Knowledge Sharing Process (KSP) to facilitate the co-creation of policy guidance. A series of workshops explored global grid development dynamics, particularly in light of the COP28 pledge to improve renewable energy and energy efficiency by 2030. These workshops addressed prerequisites for grid development, uncertainties in planning, and stakeholder collaboration across various regions. The initial results were presented as a policy brief at the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM15) in Brazil in October 2024.
